Teams & roles

Invite collaborators as viewer, editor, or admin.

Webster projects can be shared with teammates. Roles control who can edit, publish, or manage settings.

Roles at a glance

RoleTypical access
ViewerOpen project, read chat history, view preview — no edits
EditorChat, upload files, change Develop — usually cannot publish or manage billing
AdminFull project control: settings, publish, invites, secrets, domains

Exact permissions may expand over time; Admins always include publish and member management.

Teams are per project

Each project has its own team. There is no global member list for the whole account.

Inviting someone

  1. Open the project → Settings.
  2. In Project team, enter an email and choose a role.
  3. Share the invite token/link; they must sign in (or register).

Invited editors use the project owner's Webster Credits for AI work — not their personal balance unless they own the project.

Live presence (coming soon)

When multiple members open the same project, Webster shows who is online and may display live cursors in the builder so you do not edit the same area unknowingly.

Billing owner vs member

  • The billing owner manages subscription, payment method, and cancel flow.
  • Other members manage their own profile but see project plan as read-only unless they are owner.

Best practices

  • Give clients Viewer until feedback round needs edits
  • Limit Admin to people who should publish or connect domains
  • Remove access promptly when a contract ends
