For projects bigger than a simple landing page, Webster shows a phased plan inside the chat (like a todo checklist) before and while building. Each phase is a vertical slice you can test in preview.
Why phases exist
Phases improve accuracy and help you follow progress. Instead of one black box, you see steps like:
- Shell & navigation
- Core content pages
- Forms & backend hooks
- Polish & SEO
Reading the planner
Each phase has a status:
- Complete — done and reflected in preview
- Up next — Webster is working here now
- Waiting — not started yet
Individual tasks inside a phase check off live as work finishes. You do not need to tick them yourself — they mirror what Webster is doing.
Credits note
Phased builds consume Webster Credits. Webster shows a credits note on phased work so you know usage before and during generation.
Tips to save credits:
- Be specific in chat so phases do not rework the same area
- Confirm project type early (New project)
- Use undo instead of re-prompting the same fix repeatedly
When there is no phased plan
Simple one-page sites may skip the full planner and go straight to preview updates. That is normal.
If a phase fails
Preview stays on the last working revision. Tell Webster in chat what failed; it retries within the current phase when possible.
