Every Webster project starts with a prompt — what you want built — and a project type that sets the right preview and tooling.
The prompt
Describe the outcome in everyday language:
- Who it is for (customers, team, community)
- What pages or screens you need
- Any must-have features (forms, booking, login, shop)
Examples:
- “Website for my hair salon with services, prices, and a contact form.”
- “Simple todo app for my team with lists and due dates.”
You can improve the prompt with Webster’s Improve prompt helper or edit it anytime in chat.
Project types

Choose the type that matches your goal. If your prompt sounds like a different type, Webster may ask whether to switch or continue — so you do not burn credits on the wrong track.
After you submit
- Webster analyzes your prompt and may show a phased plan for larger builds.
- The builder opens with chat + preview.
- Your project gets a name you can rename in settings.
Changing direction later
Small tweaks stay in chat. A major pivot (website → mobile app) may work best as a new project so previews and structure stay clean.
