Affiliate program

How Webster partner links, commissions, holds, Gutschriften, and payouts work.

Webster’s affiliate program pays a share of commissionable net subscription revenue from paid plan subscriptions that start from your referral link.

Apply at Affiliates. Legal terms: Affiliate terms.

Requirement: you must act as a business / self-employed trader and, where required, hold a proper business registration (Gewerbe). Private consumers cannot join.

Rates

Founding partners approved before 30 Sep 2026 receive 50% of commissionable net revenue for the first paid billing period, then 20% of commissionable net revenue for later periods. Rates are snapshotted per conversion.

Annual plans: net revenue is spread across 12 months — first month at the first-period rate, later months at the recurring rate.

Cookie

Your link looks like /r/your-code. A click sets a 30-day first-party cookie. Checkout inside that window can attribute the workspace to you. Self-referrals are blocked.

Dashboard

After approval, sign in at Affiliate dashboard to copy your link, see clicks and commissions, update tax/company details, and download Gutschriften.

Commissions start on hold for 14 days, then become payable. Monthly close turns payable rows into a credit note (Gutschrift) and marks them settled. Refunds and chargebacks reverse related ledger rows; after a Gutschrift has been issued, later refunds may appear as adjustment lines on the next settlement.

Gutschrift vs bank payout

The Gutschrift is the legal settlement document (immutable snapshots of your tax profile and amounts). New Gutschriften are issued as ZUGFeRD 2.5 / Factur-X EN16931 PDF/A-3 hybrids (embedded CII XML). It is not the bank transfer.

Bank payouts use a separate Recipient onboarding flow (Stripe Global Payouts when enabled; otherwise mock/manual). A returned transfer does not un-settle commissions or reissue the Gutschrift — ops retries payment on the same settlement.

Payout

We close payable balances monthly after the period end plus the hold window. Credit packs and one-time top-ups are not commissionable yet. VAT on your commission depends on the tax treatment frozen on each settlement (no blanket German VAT rate).
